Define Food (Define:Food) is the new hip restaurant in the proximity of Mid Valley Megamall, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Situated alongside of the boulevard stretch, it’s directly facing Tim Ho Wan restaurant, another famous Chinese Dim Sum joint in Malaysia.
Define Food have an outdoor bar, which is a pretty relaxed spot to chill out and grab some drinks during Happy Hour time. It’s a small corner, made up of garage-like settings with several tables & chairs set up for a relaxing wind down drink with your friends or colleagues.
The actual restaurant itself, is situated just right beside the outdoor bar. Upon entrance, you’ll need to claim a spiral stair, leading you to the first floor. Once you’re up there, the reception will be right there to greet you and usher you to your table. If you’re planning to come here in a big group, 6 pax per se, do call in for reservation prior to your visit, so that you can get a comfortable settings, or perhaps book the private room.
I went there for pre Chinese New Year celebration, hence we started off with Yee Sang / Lou Sang by Define Food version. It came served with thick slices of salmon lay on top with flower-like arrangement, together joining this happy bunch is the crispy fried bacon. The bacon is not oily at all and all the grease seems to vanish, so it gave a really crispy and savoury bite to the Yee Sang.
As for main course, I ordered a Wagyu Bolognese Spaghetti, unfortunately, the spaghetti was undercooked when it was served initially. I sent it back into the kitchen and the staffs are kind enough to serve me a brand new plate. The beef are cooked tender, hence the bolognese tastes extra juicy. The sauce is not too acidic, which suits my palette.
