If you’re a fan of Japanese food and culture, perhaps Kenshin Izakaya is the place for you. This place first caught my attention when they displayed banners upfront saying they offers Lavender and Sakura beer. Being the curious me and of course my alcoholic side, I have always wanted to give this place a try.
Regardless if their food is nice, my main focus was of course just on the beer. During my last trip in Bangkok, I managed to find an opportunity to pay a visit to this place.
Kenshin Izakaya – Great for group of people!
Stepping into the restaurant, you will feel that you’re in a totally different place. It brings you a feeling of being in Japan itself. From restaurant decorations to the staff uniform, they’re all reflection of the authentic Japanese touch.
You can see from their table seating being arranged just like how we envisioned a Japanese restaurant would be like.
The seats are made from the beer tray of assorted Japanese brands, such as Kirin, Asahi and Sapporo.
The place are well decorated with sake bottles and even small little touch such as lavender on display!
What to try in Kenshin Izakaya?
Like I said, my main focus was probably just on the beer, Lavender and Sakura brew. We opt for the medium size and it was slightly bigger than a pint and only priced at 300 Baht, which is quite reasonable to me. Probably because a pint in Malaysia charges around the same price.
Both the beer we ordered have strong taste of Lavender and Sakura in it. It’s fragrant aroma means they totalled have them in during the brewing process. The aftertaste is a little sweet to me, hence if anyone love a sweet hint to their beer, this is the one to go for. They even have tomato and mango beer to try if you would like.
Coming to the food side, it was surprisingly tasty and flavourful. In their menu, there are a wide range of food to be choose from. You can either opt for finger food, or grilled skewer sticks and of course selection of main course.
Beef Sukiyaki Pot – The beef are extremely tender and high-quality.
Bacon wrapped Enoki mushroom
Pork Ribs Grilled to Perfection with smoky charred flavour!
A Must Try – Grilled Chicken Stick, the egg yolk as dipping give an incredible creamy taste
Grilled Shitake Mushroom
Deep Fried Small Prawns – Perfect to go alongside with your beer!
