The Commons Bangkok is probably the weirdest mall you’ll find in Bangkok.
The mall build itself on a community promises and in their own word; “theCOMMONS is a gathering ground for passionate, quality producers who take pride in what they do and do it with utmost care.
We want to be Thonglor’s backyard, a place where you can spend quality time in the neighborhood while being a little closer to nature.
We hope to promote wholesome living and a true sense of community.” You can read more about them at their own website.
The Common Bangkok
The Commons is started by Roast, the coffee place that much hyped in Seenspace. They have since relocated to The Commons Bangkok and now situated at 335 Soi Thonglor 17, not far away from BTS Thonglor Station.
The Commons’ architectural design follow very much like an industrial theme. The term hipster eating ground is very much suited to tastes that the affluent youth are more inclined toward.
Instead of numbering the floors, each level has specific names like Market, Village, Play Yard, and Top Yard. Mind you, there are not escalators in the mall itself but just stairs leading all the way up.
True to its name, at the top floor where it named as Top Yard, feature an open grass area and well decorated with greens and plants.
The cement concrete also written with some of the words such as “Bare Your Sole” and “Feet Meet Grass”, where it truly conceptualise closer to nature.
The Food in The Commons Bangkok
I didn’t get to try any food when I visited this place as I just done lunch. But what better place to spend your afternoon chilling in such architectural feat and enjoy a glass of authentic Thai Ice Tea.
The lower section of this place called Market hosts 2 different restaurants you can choose from.
If you’re feeling a little fancier, The Roast is at the top level which always guarantee satisfaction with their selection of coffee beans and also vast selection of food to choose from.
